  3. Funktown88 says:

spice-1 used mothership connection for young nigga, one of my favorite spice-1 joints

  4. dnjp4life says:

Absolutely love the Mothership Connection, an irresistable slice of funk and my personal favourite hip-hop sample.

  5. The “if you hear any noise” chorus in Mothership Connection was also picked up by the female chorus in Kool & The Gang’s “Ladies Night”… “if you hear any noise, it ain’t the boys, it’s ladies’ night…”
The guitar riff in “Kissing My Love” by Bill Withers was also sampled in 1989 by Schoolly D, for the “Education Of A Black Man” track. If you don’t know what I’m referring to, check out the whole “Am I Black Enough For You” album, or how to use samples with talent… Mythical!!!!

you’ve probably heard it but ther is also a killer version of ‘hit or miss’ by Odetta ….

one of my personal favorite drum breaks and a killer funk tune …

    peace from edinburgh, scotland

  9. exkimo64 says:

Hit or Miss by Bo Diddley also sounds like the drums (though slightly altered) were used for “Something Wicked” by 2Pac

Also Funk is you like K-Os, I really REALLY recommend Shad from London, Ontario he is like Fresh Prince/Will Smith + K-os + Common.. his stuff if really incredible.

I really suggest looking up “The Old Prince Still Lives At Home” great song (If you like the Fresh Prince intro)

Another GREAT Shad song is “I’ll never understand” a poem with his mom (Rwanda survivor)

  10. exkimo64 says:

  11. exkimo64 says:

Sarah Slean I actually went to the high school (Dunbarton in Pickering) I went to. My older siblings were there at the same time, and my Art teacher there also dated her.
